The Preliminary
*The preliminary date shall only take place should entries exceed 25 contestants. We will notify all contestants by March 3rd should we need to have a preliminary. During the preliminary the judges will score all contestants. The top 25 will move on to the 4 week contest. These scores will not carry over to the contest.
The 4 Week Contest
All contestants are required to perform on each date. Missing a contest date will result in automatic disqualification. See “Stand In” section for details. Last place contestants are not removed from the contest. Scores are calculated each night and will carry over to the following date.
Song Choices
A song choice may be submitted any time prior to the start of a contest. No changes are allowed once a contest has commenced. No two contestants are allowed to perform the same song on any given night. No one contestant may perform the same song more than once during the competition. A judge will notify the contestants of any conflict and work to resolve the issue. The judge will have final say on who may perform a song.
The Stand In
All contestants are allowed to miss one date without being automatically disqualified. However the contestant is required to provide a stand in to perform in their place. The stand in will be penalized 15 points in the Vocal Ability Category and their score added to the contestants total score. Failure to provide a stand in will result in automatic disqualification.
Score Discussion
At the conclusion of each contest date any contestant may choose to participate in a private score discussion with the judges. The judges will let the contestant know what categories to improve upon and any tips that may help them raise their score during the next contest. A copy of the score sheets will be provided to the contestant. Original score sheets will stay with the judges.
Judges and Scoring
There will be a total of three judges for each contest chosen by Maggie Meyers.
Score sheets will be completed during the contestant’s performance. Scoring will be complete once all three judges have signed their score sheet. Scores cannot be changed**(see exception) after the designated head judge adds them together and marks score as final.
**Exception Crowd vote points will be added after the poll has been conducted each night, but before the contest has concluded and results are announced.
Transparent scoring will be implemented. A copy of any contestants score sheets will be available upon request to any other contestant.

The Finale
